About Dr David Wetherell
Dr David Wetherell is a Melbourne-based urologist with expertise in prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers, as well as kidney stones and benign prostate enlargement (BPH). He specialises in robotic and laser surgery, including Retzius-sparing robotic prostatectomy and HoLEP.
After completing urology training in Melbourne, he undertook advanced fellowship training in robotic cancer surgery at University College Hospital, London. He holds a Doctorate of Medical Science from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Wetherell has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers, with research focused on prostate cancer, surgical outcomes, and innovation in urology. He consults at Epworth Freemasons, and holds public appointments at Austin Health and Alfred Health.
